This year’s camp will be a virtual camp which will include weekly online meetings on Thursday evenings during the weeks of August 10th-28th. Our Jr. High Camp is for those entering Grades 6-9. This year’s camp has a couple of options:
During the weeks of August 10-28th, the Jr. High’s will be taking part in a Jr. High Movie Club. Each week we will watch a different movie before our Thursday night meeting. We will provide a movie scavenger hunt which will challenge you to look for hidden details in the movie and help you think about the movie. When we meet we will be checking to see who was able to catch the most details and spend some time talking about how the movie connects with our lives and with faith. There will be prizes for those who find the most details in the films. After our discussion, we will spend a bit of time playing games online. The three films we will be watching are:
- Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
2. Since our movie club will finish by watching the movie, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, we thought, ‘What better time to spend some time reading the book?’ So, beginning this month, for those readers in our group, we will be reading C.S. Lewis’s classic novel as a group. Like our movie club, we will provide questions to help you engage with the book and there will be a prize for those who finish the book.
There is no cost to this camp. However, you will need access to the movies (available on Disney +) and the book (available on Amazon, Chapters).
